That spot is driving me nuts, ive only had this ks8000 a bit over a year and already replaced the panel... Not sure what exactly that is called or what is the problem. --- I'll eat it ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's a light bleed. There are different factors that can cause them, some fixable and some unfortunately not.

I thought that might be it, but all examples ive seen were more sweeping along the bottom or corners, not just a spot.

I'm not too familiar with tvs, but I'm pretty sure a possible cause is that the panel might not be mounted properly. Causing light to leak between the frame and panel. Not saying that's happening for sure, but if you've already had the panel replaced, humans tend to fuck things up more than a machine could.
