You're still caught up on the notion that people walk up to a restaurant, see it's closing soon and think "Hell yeah, I'm going to fuck these people over because I'm just that type of person!" If I walk up to a place and the doors are open and I'm seated, my mind tells me that place is open for business.

Lock the doors if you don't want anyone coming in.

Why is this an issue? Have your restaurant close earlier then.

Good for your cousin!. I complained if we haven't had enough time to look over the menu, if the explanation for food items is poor, if the food is cooked poorly, if the drink isn't strong enough or if the salad that I asked has no tomatoes or cheese has them and they need to pick it out, if there isn't enough sauce, etc. People need to actually listen sometimes but waiters are bad at it haha

Like I said youre in the right. Youre attitude about it is still shitty. Its not merely well youre open its fuck them I dont care...so yea you are in the right. its still an asshole thing to do with that kind of mentality and you know why. If you dont care then so be it. No one can make you feel empathy.

Empathy is overrated. Some people are born with that. Most aren't and the vast majority DO. NOT. CARE.

Animals in society don't have empathy. Neither do the majority of humans. I dunno if you have any empathy but it would be rare if so.

Cleaning it early is usually fine if you're not expecting to use it in the last X or Y minutes but if you're open it should be on.

EDIT: Depending on the cleaning procedure obviously.

There is. They close the kitchen 20-30 minutes before the restaurant closes, and they let people know that.
But people are so entitled they don't give a shit and expect to be served anyways.

I thought this was universal, the places I've been to in Europe have had signs with the open hours with something like "kitchen closes 30 minutes before closing" underneath.

But Christ the entitlement of some users in this topic is beyond words, wouldn't be surprised if their food was served with a healthy dose of bodily fluids.

Everyone wants to leave on time. Some want to leave early, but most people have the very real expectancy of leaving on time and not late and over time because of an entitled sack of shit.

Go to any restaurant and see that these actions are NORMAL. I go to restaurants all the time and see other tables demanding things and complaining and I usually support the customers!

cuz most servers make shit money per hour, they make their bank off tips

working overtime in service is akin to working for free. you cant close the store cuz theres people there, you dont have multiple tables if someones coming in late, and most people who come in that late werent planning on it and probably arent tipping exceptionally

not to mention you cant cash out either. most of the time you cant even report the hours if you work full time cuz they wanna keep you under 40. and depending on the size of your front of house and how much traffic yall got, closing can take awhile, especially on a weekend. and youve been on your feet all day, serving numerous customers and prolly smell like shit

Some of us aren't stupid to get a job in place we're not going to like. They feel entitled and expect empathy from others so they can get out early. How about they have some empathy towards those who don't even have jobs? Many people would love to stay late and make more hours as well.

Because the managers have to worry about labor cost. Its huge with restaurants and any food related business. Factorys and shit dont have to worry about that.
