Results, day 42:
The Azure Arbitrator > Light of Nibel, 20-15
Moonsiders 1st < Hopes and Dreams, 15-19
Tunnel Vision < Preserved Valkyria, 9-23

Both main matches started off with the higher seed taking a lead, then the other song tying the match at about 13-13, and then the top seed going on another run to close out the match.

Incidentally, Fairyland Beginning is the first sub-8-seed track to survive round 2. (It's a 10.) The remaining songs that could follow in its footsteps are Glass, End of All, 'Foundation' and Dialga Battle. Considering two of those were heavily underseeded, I doubt sexy fairies will be alone.

Results, day 43:
Inferno (Cinder's Theme) > Rivellon, 19-15
Ar-ciel Ar-manaf = Zenith, 16-16
Nico's Theme 1 > Simon Belmont's Theme, 18-16

This day was...wow.

Rivellon actually held in the match, bringing the match to within two reasonably late, and continuing to punch back. Ordinarily, this would be the most impressive fight from the losing party in the day. Today it makes Rivellon the lowest on the x-stats.

AcAm and Zenith went toe to toe the entire day. It's hardly surprising this match ended in a tie. Many people said how they'd be okay with either song advancing, and sure enough...we'll get to decide again. Surprisingly few ties this contest, so we were kinda overdue.

But then we have the side bracket match. Geez, oh man. Nico's Theme opened up to a 10-0 lead. Game over, right? But Simon kept pecking away, and while Nico's support mostly sputtered, Simon put together a 10-2 run of his own. Initially I thought this match had also ended in a tie until I recounted, and I was completely dumbfounded that a song could squander a 10-0 lead. Almost.

Well, just finished my last thing waiting in my backlog for this board: Listening to these 6 songs.

-Activation: Nice atonal song.
-Striking the Octopus: Good Spanish-like song that could've been better if focused in the beat rather than in the accordion.

-Giselle: At first I thought it was singing in Spanish or Latin (and me hearing puppies barking), but then I saw in the comments that it was singing Portuguese; Portuguese like I've never heard it before... You know, it always has that "sambinha" feel to it when you hear the language, but here it sounds so soft, beautiful and European. Too bad that slow songs that focus heavily on vocals or light instrumentation are almost always guaranteed to not have a higher rating than, say, a good Rock song.
-Bodhisattva Kill: Too long and vague for my taste. It doesn't get that good until the second phase, but it's still high enough to beat Giselle, (for good or bad). It has highs and lows, but it ultimately kind of bores me.

-Messenger: That picture looks creepy; also, the song is kind of a "meh" orchestrated piece, and it also sounds kind of creepy as well (kind of Castlevania-like, but bad).
Space Jam: Nice take on the original theme.

Striking the Octopus > Space Jam > Activation > Bodhisattva Kill >>> Messenger > Giselle

Id ~ Purpose < Fateful Confrontation, 15-17

That was...that was definitely an ending. I came home to find the scores at 14-14, 14-13, 13-14. Then Octopunch went on a 5-0 run. Fallen Angel continued streaking votes, before Foundation pushed back and retied it before a final FA vote pushed ahead. FC climbed ahead of our perennial round 4 failure. Within a span of about 20 minutes at the end, 5 votes were cast. In the end, we had quite the shake-up.

my power went out last night while i was listening to Fallen Angel, so i had to borrow someone's phone to vote. that's why it looked weird and i skipped match 2. and of course the disaster results continue. basically down to 2 songs i want to win already, jesus. might even be worse than VGMC9.
