Things were looking bad for Fallen Angel up until the final hour when a sudden bevy of votes turned up to rally for the Wangan Midnight track, and we've got our second tie of the contest. (Yes, just second.)

Unfortunate results in the other two matches, and according to the responses from many of the voters, it would have been unfortunate results regardless of what had happened. MAIN MEN will continue its march to inevitably lose in the finals like it (or Las Vegas) does in every side bracket.

I can count just fine. I'm just really unobservant. Turns out there was a vote I didn't see.

Fallen Angel does indeed win, 18-17, which is a real surprise to me considering I thought it was going down in flames. Took a 9-2 run in the last 90 minutes, but somehow it prevailed. Sorry, Len'en.

I abstained, and this is what happens. I'd feel bad, but eh, I'd rather see Verum win R2 regardless. (Disclaimer, I didn't recount, so maybe this'll get overturned, but eh, I'm lazy and preoccupied right now.)

And though I don't normally call attention to the topic polls, the previous high for a vote was 35% saying RFTM was the most disappointing exit. 43% thought Rivers in the Desert would win A2.

Having listened to it several times, I will defend that decision.

Having watched more than 2 people vote for it the other day, I can barely defend that decision, though. I'm going to have to assume those were all anti-votes against Blue Radiance.

Mine was a legitimate vote for Amusement Park. Songs like that done well are right up my alley. 1:12-1:48 in particular is really cool imo.

It's not my favorite or anything, but it's almost definitely in my top half of songs for this contest.

tbqh if I noticed that I would have said something before the bracket came out. Seeding anything Nier at 16 is kinda dicey, but I could have easily pointed out The Tower would be the weakest Nier song in the field and I was the original nominator who used a double on it!

It was. I'm not sure how that one fell to 16. I'll admit I don't like the opening to End of All, but that one's indefensible.

OTOH, it turns out that this vs Botanic Panic was like Halo vs Starcraft in terms of how the seedings worked out.

I am surprised I did not know about this version, I have a number of friends who are more into fire emblem music to me that alert me about every fire emblem song I might potentially like. Someone please nominate this version next contest if normal end of all doesn't do well!!!

Maybe because it was added/exclusive to the DLC and not part of the base game's OST? Fates's DLC OST had some great tracks that I like more than all/almost all of the base game's OST. Desire Below is another good one.
