Considered Hillary as the slightly lesser of two evils. Only slightly, couldn't stand either one tbh.

For a short time after Hillary got the Den nomination, I was stressing out and was begrudgingly going to vote for Hillary, but then I remembered that I had standards.

Well, you must have known one of the two would win---who would you have wanted to win over the other? Vote accordingly. You must have had some preference.

Or, maybe you truly did not prefer one over the other in the slightest. Maybe I should have added another option.

there was no lesser of two evils. it was a fight between Azmodan and Belial. two demons.

one was waaaaaaay more qualified. the other has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. decisions were made. simple as that.

neither one got my vote, but I preferred the one with experience.

I wanted Bernie to win because, like him or not, he was trustworthy and would have at least tried to make things better. He'd have been prevented by the house and senate most of the time anyway, so all of the doomcriers lacked a credible fear there... After the Dems railroaded him, I kind of wanted Trump to beat Hillary out of spite, but I hate them both pretty equally.

You asked how strong our support was. I briefly considered voting for Hillary under duress. I hated Trump more, but still hated Hillary a lot.

Weak vote for Hillary, more of a fuck you Trump vote, though.

That being said, I live in Illinois, so didn't matter either way.

Nah. You did it right. Some people like to weasel out and sit on the fence, but someone is going to win with the way we run presidential elections in the US. This is, of course, ignoring third parties. But that's what the majority of Americans do already, unfortunately. Not choosing is just passing the decision on to the next guy/gal. Don't let them cop out in the poll. You'd never get the answers you're aiming for.

Right... You initially said "I was begrudgingly going to vote for Hillary".... But then you remembered you had standards.

So it's still a bit ambiguous if you wanted Hillary to win over Trump, or Trump to win over Hillary (since I'm sure you knew one of them would win).

he was probably the first candidate to even have tax plans laid out while the others were still doing their WWE promos.

I'd argue Trump was the very first third party candidate. He ran under the Republican name, but even in the beginning he said "We'll see how I'm treated" and didn't pledge support in the first debate.

He's certainly different than your average Republican candidate, that's for sure.

Lol, that certainly explains why the GOP is in lockstep with him...

They don't have much of a choice, and of course on many fronts they agree with his agenda. But it's certainly not business as usual for them and Trump forced his way in. Hostile takeover.

Third party doesn't inherently mean completely "in the middle of the road", anyways.

It's a party or an idea besides the two main parties---and Trump was critical of them all for being "all talk, no action".

Given Trump's uniqueness as a candidate, it's hard not to say Trump is the closest candidate we've had that was different than your typical Republican or Democrat.
