Why is it that people feel they need to relate to a comedian/entertainer in order to enjoy their content.

Similarly there's a song i really like called Drummer Boy, a comment on the song said something like "it's cool, but I can't relate to the song because I've never found love in a boy who drums" I was bewildered.

Honestly i do not understand why people look to media for self-actualization.

When I don't like a show, I don't take great umbrage with it and it's creator. I just don't watch it.

Far more importantly than my meh original post, imagine getting upset about a show called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee for sticking to its namesake. They spelled it all out so clearly!
