Actually, it's pretty good, as most pizza is. It's often better than small shop pizza, which is why they've become successful. New York pizza is no different than the pizza in any small town strip mall pizzeria.

That was the case when I lived in Arizona. But here in NJ even the worst non-chain pizza is better than all of the major chains combined.

Ehh... NJ has as many pizzerias as Wawas. In any given town you can pick an arbitrary direction and go no more than a few minutes before hitting a pizza place. Many of them are good, but some of them... I have no idea how they stay in business.

I only make my own pizza for this reason. Really doesn't take much time either, and I can make a bunch and freeze em myself.

Plus I can make like 10 pizzas for the price of one takeout, but I'm also a pretty good cook.
