I thought it was alright, but they fucked the ending up big time. Pick an ending and stick with it already!

this game had so many awesome moments for me. always play on hardcore mode for maximum heart attacks!

the best was when i unknowingly was exploring near a reaper and got out of my seamoth (mini-sub)

reapers prioritize the seamoth above you. i heard the reaper's scream, had no idea what it was, and turned around...in time to see it slam into my seamoth and careen off into the distance. i got the surface and swam away as fast as i could

I've given up trying to apply logic to most movies. It always takes me out of the movie and then I lose interest half way through. I can't enjoy movies nearly as much as I used to.

As long as the plot melds well enough, and isn't the walking dead levels of stupid, I'll watch through a movie.

Although some things still stood out, like their quarter tanks lasting over an hour, and not calling the coast guard as soon as the cage snapped off. Also what the fuck were these girls thinking!? They meet these strangers at a bar and decide 'yeah I've known these guys a few hours, let's go on the sketchiest floating boat imaginable, climb into the rustiest shark cage, and look at sharks!'

once you realize everything in the game looks pretty goofy due to the art style it loses a lot of the shock. the atmosphere is awesome though, the anxiety is what makes this game great. i've been playing since alpha and have conquered the sea to the point where everything is pretty much mapped out in my head. i wish i could erase it all and play this game fresh.

so much of the game is in near-total darkness that the goofy art style is nbd

it is the audio that makes it. and silhouette views of predators from a distance, where you're not sure yet if they see you.

and honestly i thought reaper/ghost leviathans were legit scary lookin

the game has a day-night cycle and beneath the water your only light during night is some minor bio-luminescence and your flashlight(s). all caves without bioluminescent creatures will be dark inside.

endgame areas arent dark, but for totally different reasons.
