I know a few people who were diagnosed with fibromyalgia and in each case it was just a cop out for the doctors who didn't want to bother figuring out what was actually wrong with them. It seems especially common to slap it onto people who've had mental health issues in the past since that makes it such an easy out for lazy doctors. So I wouldn't be so quick to assume that it's all in her head. She could have some other issues that weren't properly diagnosed.

Thats because I dont believe in fibromyalgia. These people literally get cscans showing zero indication of pain centers being activated while they are supposedly in excruciating pain.

Now before you start pulling out articles and links let me tell you not to waste your time. Been there done that and youre not going to change my mind on it.

Either way, this girl (boy? They never clearly define if shes transitioned) was a major attention whore before her dads video. The fibromyalgia bit is just a way for her to get attention in her and the ordeal she went through.

2. She took pictures of herself naked and uploaded them to the internet (unsure if this is true)

3. She became a boy (gay man trapped inside a woman's body), then went back to being a girl or rather, "gender queer" (apparently true)

I remember when all that went down like it was yesterday. Didn't really get any amusement out of her situation. She was a little shit but, well, a lot of kids are and unless a kid murders or rapes or something I don't like to see kids suffer no matter how annoying they are. That said, her father's idiocy was pretty amusing.

It's a diagnosis of exclusion. You can do a 10 billion dollar workup at the cost of the taxpayer and find nothing or treat the pain and associated psychiatric disorders if present. The results will be the same. We don't know enough about the disease to have a definitive diagnostic test for it. Her fibromyalgia is probably due to some underlying psych shit that manifests as somatic pain. Can we prove this? No. Can we treat it? Maybe.

You sound like someone who doesn't understand nuance but that's not surprising.

To an extent, maybe. Or maybe not so much, if mental illness and abuse are involved. Even putting that aside, the girl was only 11 when this whole ordeal started, and it looks like she had plenty of years of bad parenting leading up to it.

We were all little shits in middle school... Jessi more than most, but still... I doubt that any of us ITT experienced the amount of hate and neglect she did during her formative years.

The problem is when doctors just assume nothing would be found and make the diagnosis without actully ruling other things out. Let's be real, some doctors are going to see past mental health issues as an easy excuse to not investigate further, and if there are other real issues they may go undiagnosed and untreated. Also, I don't know why you're assuming taxpayers are footing the bill since this isn't always the case and has no bearing on a proper diagnosis anyway.

Iirc some dude posted a story about how she fucked a member of some shitty band(which may or may not be true) and then she made a video complaining about being harassed which set 4chan off which lead to her making the infamous video in response to them harassing her. It's a pretty fucked up story honestly. Especially if the musician actually did have sex with her(he was an adult, she was like 11).
