Also 'the rest of us' doesn't matter. The sponsors matter. And it doesn't really affect their bottom line (the message) enough for it to make sense to withdraw support IMO. But I also get sponsors are fickle beasts at time. So it's less bad and more just weird they picked this one incident to withdraw support on. Like she attacked way more powerful and better people before and nothing. She's done worse things and nothing. But this? Not odd at all. It's the perception of the matter. She's literally attacking a high school kid on national TV. Take movies for example--you can have some really terrible characters in movies. Murderers / rapists / etc. But typically to drive the point home, some movies will have the antagonists kill the pet dog of the person they're fucking with. Even though that's like not anywhere near the top 10 list of awful shit they've done, it's generally something personally relateable to most people and so it has a different emotional impact.
