The first one isn't as bad as it sounds and there's a semblance of a movie in there. The sequels on the other hand soley exist to disturb people.

It's crazy in the sense of how disturbingly disgusting it is. I do not recommend watching these kinds of movies, or movies like saw and hostel to name a few.

the first movie is by no means movie of the year, but it conceptually has that wow WTF factor, while actually having a plot to it. the villian, the doctor, is also a rock solid actor in the movie which kind of sells the entire movie.

also the first movie is more about conceptually being disturbing than just throwing it all in your face with blood and guts. the first movie's villian, the doctor, has a backstory to him as well. the first movie also has one deleted scene which is disturbing in concept alone, but not because the scene is full of blood and guts.

the second movie, is simply there to shock value you and give you nightmares. I mean, I get it, theres a plot, but the plot seems to be how fucked up can this rabbit hole go.

the third movie likewise does this. though I am not familiar with the third one beyond what i've heard. but it seems it is similar to how fuck up can we go variety.

in short, i know way to much about these movies(I had roommates at one time....and that movie got watched like 5 times for some ungodly reason i still dont even know to the point it became some kind of bizarre joke), and the first one is the only one worth watching.

by worth watching I mean, its not something i'll say you must watch it, but rather of the three, the first one is the only one worth the time of day.
