I'll show someone who more than likely didn't actually read the review.

When they're not devoting 3/4 of a review talking about how great another game is, they're literally telling straight up lies about the game in question, and getting paid for it, all while likely not even mentioning the games story. Anyone who's played Lost Sphear or The Secret World and read their review for those games can tell you that.

These days, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that based their decision off of a single review. For those who are lazy enough to not look past a single number, metacritic's obviously a better choice than any one review. Anyone who's willing to put more thought into it likely will read multiple reviews.

I just use YouTube since I can't rent from Blockbuster anymore. They cancelled my account for some reason and won't answer their phone.

Back when it was around, Id put a heavy amount of faith in Gametrailers reviews, although I wouldnt let it be the sole reason for buying or not buying a game. I felt that their reviews gave a ton of insight and for whatever reason, their tastes tended to align with my own.

I always forget that Easy Allies is a thing... Id imagine they would be similar, since its largely the same group. Also, my phone kept auto correcting Easy Allies to Easy Sallies. Now Im wondering if thats a thing...

Well that's not too unusual considering that they went out of business :P

Are you for real? Their reviews told you jack fucking squat about the games. Every review I saw for it was essentially ""this game is awesome! the middle of the game had some of the best moments in gaming ever! The story, which I won't bother to go into detail whatsoever is amazing! The combat is amazing too, and you don't need any details! I think every AAA game in human history is the best game ever!"

Although to be fair I only watched their reviews when people I knew would link me to them, and it was always to games that they were hyped for.

Even worse was the computerized voice that did all the reviews. God, it was the very definition of bland!"

Their reviews would typically run about 8-10 minutes, so Id say they were more detailed than what you recall. We may have to agree to disagree on that. But they would call out games that werent great - they definitely didnt give high praise to every game. As for the computerized voice, I have no clue what youre talking about. Their reviews were narrated by Brandon Jones, they guy who was basically running their show.

I choose not to buy a game based on their reviews all the time.

Well, their video at least.

I don't really care much what they say, I care what the game looks like, and I can tell that by the video.

Quite often IGN is one of the first videos up as well.....so I end up using them.

Ok, but I watched at leat 10 reviews like that.

And seriously, that wasn't a computerized voice? Are you sure he didn't put his voice through a synthsizer?

Does IGN give bad reviews? It seems that their scores are always equal to or higher than GameSpot's.
