I disagree. I love both, but SA had some really stupid missions and ideas. The entire story can basically be summed up as, "Carl does some favors for some random guy hoping they'll help him settle the score, repeatedly".

No? That really only applies to Toreno and there's a very clear goal.

I have finished VC, 4 and V only. Got really far into SA but never finished it. SA is without a doubt the most ambitious game in the series but it didn't learn from the mistakes of Vice City. It still has those annoying RC helicopter/plane missions but the open world itself was so huge and there was so much to do especially all the gang wars and territory stuff. Plus, working out in the gym, building your muscle, getting a girlfriend, etc..

I still gotta go with GTA V, simply because it is the most polished entry and one of the few games that lived up to all the hype.

It's probably the most obnoxious they ever got however.

Well maybe something in the PSP games was worse. Only played those once each and they were kinda eh.

But Supply Lines was pretty ass.

Been a very long time since I played it but I don't think I would have even bothered with those if it didn't stopped me from progressing the story.

Vice City is the only one I ever actually beat. I think I like it slightly more than SA eveb though I love the RPG elements and sheer amount of crazy stuff they packed in there. However, even though Im not usually a graphics whore, in GTA it really makes a difference, and especially when you add in the mechanics. GTA5 is the best.

GTA3 probably blew my mind the most at the time, like someone else said though

Cesar and Woozie aren't random guys.

The Truth is random af though, I'll give you that one.

I guess that is poorly worded, on my part. I didn't mean 'random' in the sense that they came out of no where, more in the sense that pretty much every chain of missions goes like this;
- Carl meets someone.
- Someone says they'll help Carl, but first they need him to X, Y, and Z.
- Carl does X, Y, and Z.
- Person introduces Carl to a 'friend of theirs', lather, rinse, repeat.

VC > SA > III > IV > 2 > 1969 > Chinatown Wars > 1 > V > Advance

V really has to be considered amongst the top few videogames ever created, but I do have a real soft spot for San Andreas. I loved just cycling around!
