Finally finished Busted on Netflix. Can't say I recommend it, even as a huge Running Man fan. The plot and script is so cringe worthy, and some of the puzzles are clearly fake and scripted as well. Very few laughs to be had in the 10 episodes which are all and 70+ minutes, and the ones that are there are due entirely to the cast breaking character and being themselves.

I guess they renewed it for a season 2 so maybe people liked it, but meh. Hopefully they lean more towards variety and less towards kdrama for season 2.

Actually I saw that people have posted it online lol, I watched the pilot, I see what you mean about the best parts being when they break character, it would really be too boring without that. It's a weird show, like the premise is like Crime Scene, but then they go really really ham on the puzzles and what's funny is it's hard to tell when they're following the script and when they're ad libbing, like the metashow is a million times more interesting than the show. You're also right I think, a big part of the positive reviews is probably just because of EXO or whatever. Well, I'm looking forward to Sejeong so I shouldn't talk lol. But yeah, by your review I know that I'll want to watch the whole thing but it's probably gonna be slow going. But thanks for the follow up!

I'm also behind on RM a few eps again, right now I'm on the last couples race. At least I got some more time now that Produce China is done. That is one 4 hour finale I have very little inclination to watch again...

TFW Red Velvet sang an English version of Bad Boy as a surprise for Kcon. Their pronunciations were surprisingly good. Wendy slayed but that was because she was raised in the West after all.

Very surprisingly! Irene talk singing (let's just call it that) in English is the cutest thing I ever heard, I want more. Loved it, thanks man.

i'm lacking the motivation to watch it for even the first time tbh. saw a clip of jingyun singing an eason chan song though, so i got what i needed.

New Momoland is pretty great. This and Bhoom Bhoom have been pretty classic Shinsadong Tiger work and I love it.

The opening beat of BAAM sounds exactly like EXID's Are you hungry.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm glad Shinsadong Tiger was able to recycle that part because its one of the best parts of the song XD

I have nothing against them though, I would have been more than happy for them if they continued to be as successful as they were with Bboom Bboom but all the signs were there that it was nothing more than a one-time viral hit and that it wasnt actually building them a fanbase or public recognition. On the plus side it at least turned them from completely unknown into a low-mid tier group so thats good for them

I agree but at the same time, if the song is fun that's what matters right? I think Momoland's never been boring, they always try.

With how bad Baam is doing I would expect a change for their next comeback, they tried to ride Bboom Bbooms sound way to hard and Koreans arent having it. Also they need to drop Shinsadong Tiger as their producer because all his songs sound like remixes of each other

I do think that the MV is creative and funny but yea it does sound like Bhoom Bhoom version 2. They even have all the viral dances and even a dance from Bhoom Bhoom in it. I don't know, it might recover because Bhoom Bhoom was a huge sleeper hit. Blackpink is just dominating the charts right now.

Tbh I would probably have liked it less if Yeonwoo and Nancy didn't look so good in it.

Bboom Bboom was a sleeper hit because nobody even knew Momoland before they released it then it got some plagiarism accusations which brought peoples attention to it. Bboom Bboom is the biggest GG hit of the year and was all over the place in Korea, this should have given a gigantic boost to their fandom and public recognition like what happened to Twice after Cheer Up or SNSD after Gee but their physical sales are still low (64 first day) and nobody is listening to their new song (debuted at 36 daily). I get BP is dominating right now but thats not even really a factor, I certainly wouldnt fault Momoland for not getting above BP on the charts especially since BP is coming off a year long drought, but Baam isnt even out charting Bboom Bboom and hasnt even sniffed the top 10. But yes, several of the girls do look very good so theyve got that going for them. This is why you never go with Shinsadong Tiger for multiple releases in a row, the guy has written 5 decent songs which he then remixes into oblivion. They played it way too safe to the point of being stale

i like 'warota people' after the performance on ep 2, and also 'oogoe diamond' which you posted ages ago. i haven't dug too much into it yet tbh, but i've been listening to miyu covers non-stop, so now i know a bunch of AKB48 songs, but only her versions.

i've also been watching a bit of akbingo and whatnot, and i think i like NGT48 in particular? i'm now belatedly sad about kitarie's graduation, and extra rooting for noepii and renapon on pd48.

yeah, let's see how far i fall down this rabbit hole.

Whoo, new Apink comeback. Their new sound is great. It has that 80s kind of feel but I can't put a finger on which style it sounds like from which singer.

Mmm interesting sound, kind of a mash, it's got bits of different stuff, that's why it's hard to place I think. It's that kind of retro-tropical but smoother. But see even Apink know when a trend has changed. Strangely it suits them pretty well. It gives you a kind of nostalgia doesn't it. Like night finally came for those girls and now they're older, more mature. Yeah it's really good, I realize I love it.
