G I-Dle's debut video is out.

They sound like a rookie version of Blackpink.

I can see why people make the comparison, it is that style. I thought it'd be some boppy crap but it's mellower, more melodic which I like. I guess I should expect more of Cube. Speaking of Chinese, Yuqi and Shuhua are very pretty.

With the show I'm getting an overload of C-Pop lol, pretty much discovering it, before I'd mostly only heard stuff from the 48G groups, mostly SNH48.

That Ai Ni song that Kimberley sings was very popular though, even I got to hear it (I don't really like it though).

Dreamcatcher has been consistently great since their reinvention from Minx (though Minx's debut song "Why Did You Come To My Home" was a bop). They also musically fill a space that korean idol music really doesn't have which is nice.

This will keep me very occupied for the next three months... if only I weren't so busy right now. It takes me a long time to watch these shows because I'm slow at reading subtitles, and because I take screenshots as I'm watching.

There's a new variety show with Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Kwang Soo on Netflix, but the episodes are released weekly. Haven't started it yet, but I found it odd that they're releasing them weekly as everything I've ever seen on Netflix has always been fully uploaded from the start. It's called Busted for anyone that's interested, it seems somewhat similar to Running Man based on the trailer I saw, but I'm sure it's different. With those 2 in it it's bound to be pretty good though.

Mmm, particularly groups who do girly concepts. And also groups that are even larger. Like I still find WJSN a bit too large. But in Japan it's different.

That thumbnail alone is creepy. I like Japanese, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Filipino and Thai women but just can't get into Korean women as they look off. The idol ones are the worst since most of them get surgery and it's obvious as they look like creepy dolls with too much makeup. Music wise very little of it appeals to me despite listening to it every now and then to try and get into it. I definitely prefer male J-Pop sound to female sound though. I feel the female productions are insanely try hard so can't stand to watch the videos or the idols. I liked J-Pop a lot in the 00s but most of what I liked then I can't stand now and can't vibe with the newer stuff either. *shrug*

I mean, there is a certain aesthetic I guess. It's not Kpop or Korean though, I mean look at Taylor Swift or Katy Perry, whoever. I guess you find something odd in the combination. I don't think you should. The surgery can be a problem in extreme cases, for the most part I don't think it is, I guess your tolerance is low. Again not exclusive to Kpop or Korea although maybe more prominent.

Okay, this makes more sense. Yeah I mean if you mind, let alone don't prefer younger women, yeah. And I mean, some of them actually are freaking teenagers, yeah. Similarly with thinner instead of curvier. There are groups with more mature, more womanly girls. But then yeah, I guess there's all the other stuff. The more womanly girls are usually pigeonholed into sexy groups.

Been through this with some friends over the years. Nothing really clicked. My friend that is a K-Pop obsessed guy (his whole room is K-Pop stuff and he travels cross country and even to Canada for shows). He loves A Pink and I remember him listening to Girls Generation. An old ex loved 2NE1. I listened to them as well as Big Bang, Black Pink, Red Velvet, Super Junior and G-Friend off the top of my head.

I don't really have a favorite genre as I listen to anything that interests me so I am all over the place. Depends on my mood at any given time. As typical as this sounds, I like Psy the most. IIRC, one of those guy groups above have a similar sound and video style to Psy which made me impressed with Psy since he outperformed an entire group by himself in his videos which are insane. That being said, I don't really like Gangnam Style that much. I like Gentleman and Daddy far more.

I notice the boy groups appeal to me more, namely the ones that have more of a hip hop or R&B sound. I guess the short of it is more stuff like Psy but it seemed pretty obvious when I was going over groups that Psy is one of those unique personalities you can't really emulate so he stands alone in style and sound.
