Women should be allowed to fuck for cash if they want. It?s a contract between two consenting adults. There is no victim in this.

This.

There are 2 groups of people with opposite goals who both wish for it to remain illegal. 1. Is super conservative types who see it as an affront to morality.
2. Rad-fems ironically who see it as sexual exploitation of women by forces within the patriarchy. It's ironic because 3rd wave feminists have fully embraced sex workers rights and are opposed to 2nd wavers who view it this way.

Both groups are obviously misguided.

Those two seem kinda counterproductive to each other. That is to say, wanting women to not be looked at as objects, but then also wanting women to be able to sell themselves as a sex object?

Choice, as in who is choosing whether or not to objectify a person, is key.

What you're using them for sure does seem like objectification. I'm sure you could pay one to just lay there while you fuck em'.

Usually when I hear about objectification of women, it's in the sense of video games having girls who are presented in a sexual way. As in scantly clad, with exaggerated features.

Can you explain what you mean?

Just hearing about it at first glance. Marches that discourage objectification of women, and then marches that encourage prostitution.

In the case of a willing prostitue, it's a matter of perception. She may not see herself as an object, but maybe her client does.

What it seems like doesn't matter. I'm not here to defend feminists only legalized prostitution.

If prostitution is regulated like how the vegas brothels are then they can stop the act anytime and patrons can't just beat the women without repercussions.

Why can't we make prostitution a more accessible career option for men?

I'm only half joking here. Isn't it considered a good thing for men to feel comfortable working jobs considered too feminine for men? Ya know like breaking down those gender barriers.

Or does that only work when women want in on desirable male dominated professions? By desirable, I mean jobs that aren't manual labor.

But yeah legalizing prostitution is pretty much nothing but a good thing from a variety of angles. It just comes off a little weird when 3rd wave feminists support it so strongly, but I mostly agree with them anyways.

Why (to the bolder part)?

Because prostitution SEEMS like such a degrading profession and you'd think they'd prefer these women to work in STEM or other male dominated and much better paying and respected fields.

Like stripping is clearly a legal and regulated industry, but it also seems like a fairly unhealthy environment.

I guess the closest comparison I can make to men is men working very physical manual labor jobs (like coal mining) that may pay well, but are also very bad for you in a multitude of ways. I find it weird for anyone to be championing such jobs.

It's a weird grey area where you want workers in said field to have better working conditions, but even when you dress it up real nice it's still a job where you may be much better off looking elsewhere. Some jobs still suck bad no matter how much you try to improve work conditions. I get that no job is perfect either and people sometimes find working in crappy conditions to be preferable to not working.

It just seems like they should be more focused on discouraging people from entering the profession as opposed to improving work conditions. Improving work conditions seems like it kind of encourages entry into sex work.

But I guess people need to work and most jobs suck anyways. IDK it just seems contradictory to want to discourage people from entering a certain profession and fighting to improve work conditions in that same profession.

Only trying to help people with the means to help themselves is not a very uplifting movement.

Not really sure how what you said relates to my post.

To be clear, I have nothing against feminist groups working to improve the work conditions for various types of sex workers that tend to be predominantly female. Certainly there is room for improvement there. There is a market for those jobs, because men want to pay to have sex with women.

Just seems you would very much want to decrease the amount of women turning to sex work as you also work to improve their work conditions. Reading that statement it seems contradictory or to exist in some sort of weird grey area.
