Built-in excuse to leave work whenever the fuck you want

Who's gonna question you about your fucking child? Like say your kid's got an appointment or got in trouble at school or some shit that requires parental assistance. What fucking boss is gonna ask for proof?

My boss' wife is literally a stay at home mom and he still claims his kids (i think he has 2, they're young, like 4 and 6 or something like that) require his attention and thus he bails from the office

It's crazy, imagine having a kid while your wife also actually has a job

you could take some semblance of time off every fucking week and no one would bat an eye

i personally don't think it's worth the financial burden, dealing with poopy diapers, completely destroying your social life, being a pariah on any planes and in any restaurants, and etc., but hey, silver linings

That's exactly why I had a kid. I get so much time off now. I get to leave while all the non parents have to cover my shift. Lol.

Me and the wife were discussing how we could spend less time working and more time together, so we came up with the idea of having a kid. It's worked out great.

If your boss is letting people leave without proof(doctor notes etc) report them to HR so they get fired. Whats the problem?

i'm in a corporate office job, not a mcdonald's kitchen. someone else not being here has no impact on my ability to do my job. it's not like someone bails and i suddenly have to cover the kitchen and the cash register.

plus it's my boss leaving all the time. imagine me going to his boss, who also has kids, and being like "hey, john here is always claiming his kids are requiring assistance" - great way to put a bullseye on my head. sure, i could do HR "anonymously," but we're a small office. there are less than ten of us who report to him. he may not find out it was me specifically, but it sure as shit would make him angrier in general if suddenly he had to provide proof every time he needed to tend to his kids, so i'd rather not ruin the atmosphere. it's a lose-lose for me, so there's no point.

So youve decided not to do anything about it? Then you dont have a right to complain about it. Who cares what they think? For all you know everyone feels the same way as you so screw him for taking advantage and see what happens. If it bites you in the ass obviously theyre all shitty people you shouldnt want to be around anyway. And if he makes your life hell until they fire you knock his ass out and find a new job. I dont see the issue here. Lifes to short to put up with bullshit.

No, I'm not going to do anything about it because everyone who I could complain to (aside from the one other coworker I actually liked, who literally quit last week) also has kids, so you really think going to my boss' boss about kid-related situations is a good idea? No, it's not. Especially when it literally doesn't benefit me personally or professionally. As I type this, it's sounding eerily similar to the post you quoted, so I don't know why I'm regurgitating it again since you clearly didn't read it the first time.

I totally get it too, that's the thing. Part of me does sympathize, but at the same time, having a kid was their choice. In the eyes of the company, we're all the same employees. People shouldn't get special treatment because of a decision made in their personal lives.

That's sad for the kid tbh. Parents didn't even want him, just wanted more time off.
