The victim said he was enjoying an afternoon steam at the Broadway in Gramercy Park location and said "i'm relaxing, i'm sitting in the corner, it's very meditative. The steam clears..and i look across from me. This gentleman, sitting pretty close, his towel is open, his legs are spread and he's looking right at me, and the guy next to him was rubbing the man's inner thigh. He's looking right at me, his towel's off, he's masturbing." The man, only identified as GB, says he's a SINGLE STRAIGHT FATHER who says he's "good looking man" and said he realized that all of the men in the room were GAY and were getting aroused while staring at him. The man said he PANICKED and thought he couldn't escape as he worried the gay men would OVERPOWER and SEXUALLY ASSAULT HIM...but he quickly got out, dressed and went to the front desk to report the incident but staff didn't take action. He said the whole incident left him "shaken up" He noted the gym was known for as much as 10 years with similar wrongful acts in the steam showers. In a recording taken by GB and obtained by the NYP, the manager of the location acknowledged the incidents.. Membership costs were upwards of 200 a month as the gym will "thoroughly investigate" But GB is mad because they gym never revoked the memberships of the gay men either.. It's nice to know someone is attracted to you even if you aren't attracted to them That said if they whipped it out and started jacking it in front of me I'd be creeped out.
