It seems every fucking time I move my computer (about once a year) I have this problem and don't have the brains to write down how I fix it. Basically the Speakers option from my audio devices disappears, even though my speakers are working fine with any other device. It's not the port either as I literally just used it on another set of speakers.

I have a Z97 Pro motherboard which defaults to using Sound Blaster drivers I believe. I try to reinstall them but it says I don't have a supported product so it abandons the install. I tried using Realtek but that's a dud too. I can't find the original Sound Blaster drivers to uninstall either, so I'm just at a complete loss.

Usually when this happens I tinker around for 5 hours and give up and hope for the best the next day, which is what is happening right now but there must be a way. I've done this before!

Only thing I can think of is to restore your computer to a previous date when it was working.

Is there a way to restore just a day or so previous? If so, how do I go about that?

Um just look at the dates when you go to do it. You wont lose your files.... It usually just restores drivers, programs things like that.

It won't go back far enough :( The last thing it remembers is me trying to install a driver to fix it.

I'll do anything for an answer, otherwise I'm stuck watching things with my headphones next to my face turned up real loud.
