I have two duchies and quite a bit of all of those. So unless it requires thousands, I see no issues.
Oh cool, looks like my vassals will upgrade stuff in their county sometimes. Also I can't seem to figure out how to fill out my levies in my non capital holdings. They're just stuck at 1 of whatever. --- It's supposed to be HitTheGroundWalking. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Once you get that king title taking the rest of the island is pretty easy if the rulers are still counts. You can offer them vassalization and they usually accept

To all of you who've been so helpful, and answered my endless questions, if you ever want a custom trait for fun, I'd love to make it for you. It'd be a little something I could do to show my gratitude, though I imagine most of you do only ironman runs where mods are a nono. I could make one to make things harder, or just some flair like the one I made for myself is. I can even think of some traits that'd totally change how you'd play, for a specialty run. Making one for myself and getting to use it was lots of fun so I'd be happy to do the same for you guys!

Haha, I never use ironman rules lol. I'm not sure what kind of trait I'd like to see though. Need to give it some thought.
Also, my headcanon is that certain traits aren't necessary what the character 'really' is (unless the game specifies), but more like how others perceive them. For example, I like to think the Homosexual trait could be anywhere from gay to bi. I once got it after an event where my (male) king slept with 4 women and 1 man, sooo.... I like to think news of him sleeping with the man got out and now the world thinks he's a homosexual, even though he also had sex with women. --- Account created-9/10/04. Your thought about perception makes a lot of sense.
And well, I already realized a succubus (high attraction, low fertility etc.) was make-able, and a less fantastical thing that could potentially make things more interesting is extra fertility with more ambition etc. in npcs. With the right succession law, you could have a particularly cut-throat game, with family members extra motivated to try and take the throne. Maybe throw in some extra intrigue. Wouldn't even have to be visible to the player, except on your current ruler. But something specifically for you, I guess the questions are how do you generally play, and how do you never play? And I doubt I could do an observation game, I crash too much. >.< --- It's supposed to be HitTheGroundWalking. ... Copied to Clipboard!

1304 BC, 238 years in, Queen Lyla, the 6th queen of Tallaryn, has the whole island.
It began with Queen Lanya the Old, who lived to be 80 years old before her throne passed on to one of her granddaughters, Queen Lorylai the Just, who was succeeded by her granddaughter as well. Queen Lianne, known as 'the Lady of Tallaryn', took the throne at a mere 12 years old. Queen Lianne broke the tradition of skipping a generation and handed her lands to her daughter to Queen Lacian the Just. Rather than giving the throne to a direct descendant of herself, Queen Lacian saw potential in the daughter of her youngest sister, who was a Genius. Queen Lolanna lived up to this, coming to be known as Queen Lolanna the Wise, and was the one to turn her family's petty kingdom into a full-fledged kingdom, before passing it on to the youngest of her daughters, Queen Lyla, who got the remainder of the island. --- It's supposed to be HitTheGroundWalking. ... But I can't figure out how. What do you mean their levies are higher than you? If this is the case you need to improve your demense, send your marshal to train troops in your capital (increases the levy size while he is there), increase your own martial stat and check your counties for negative modifiers. As for crown authority, medium is pretty good. They changed the crown authority mechanic in conclave so Im rusty on that but a quick look at the wiki was helpful --- Quit Crying ... I have more levies, but they can raise more of what they have.
I can get 4338 of 6607, while my vassals combined can get 3854 of 3854. Many of the castles/towns/churches in their counties have full levies. Mine do not. Training Troops doesn't seem to raise mine, only my capital. Or I've forgotten to raise some in my non-capitals. I'll try both. Okay, I've already gone from Min to Low Crown Authority. One more to Medium. Can't change it for another 50ish years though since I ticked off the Pope in order to make my Vassals happier. I was thinking about traits I'd like to see in the game, and I remembered something: there aren't enough Intrigue-improving traits. I also feel like there's something "missing" in the scale between Gregarious and Shy. So my idea is this: "Taciturn."
It would describe a character who is competent/comfortable talking with others (i.e. not Shy) but doesn't go out of his/her way to strike up conversations (i.e. not Gregarious). This trait would be mutually exclusive with Shy and Gregarious. Rather than confer a Diplomacy bonus, it grants Intrigue (since Shy and Gregarious are -2 and +2 Diplomacy, I think Taciturn should be +2 Intrigue). A Taciturn character could also be less likely to blab about plots, or more likely to succeed at 'sneaky' actions such as seduction (and likewise, less likely to get caught seducing/being seduced) (note that I don't know how some game mechanics work, so I don't know how easy or hard that would be to implement lol) --- Account created-9/10/04. Well this multiplayer game is going to shit. The dude who is hosting the game is editing the saves between games to give himself the advantage. Upon loading the save the byzantine empress' is dead leaving his wife the empress of the Byzantines and he suddenly has a new son with the genius trait which didn't exist when the game was saved last time and which isn't born when we run the saves of that game that we have. He tries to justify this shit by saying that he doesn't know how that shit got there and something must of went weird when he was messing with console commands earlier. Like hell dude, why would you do that, admit to using console commands, and still try to deny that you're messing with shit. I'd try and ally the other players against him since everyone knows he's doing shady shit between games, but we just won't have the man power to fight his 50k troops that he'll have once he inherits Byzantium.

https://send.firefox.com/download/9d94e06892/#r8ItWanO8vGQdKGyLSpVrg I put it on a fairly low fire rate so you're not constantly bothered with it, and NPCs will end up with it too. As your game runs, you'll end up with more and more npcs with the trait. But it won't end up so ALL of them have it since there's options. When you are done with your current playthrough you should definitely try starting out as a vassal. You learn a lot about vassal mechanics from being on the other side. Its also more relaxing and less war intensive as long as your liege doesnt decide to revoke your title...
One of my favorite starts is Herbert Karling in 1066. Basically, the founder of the Holy Roman Empire in the 769 start, Charlemagne, only has a few dynasty members and one county after 300 years. I started one as Herbert and got really lucky. I sent my chancellor to fabricate a claim hoping I would get the duchy claim and I actually got it! So got a duchy really fast haha. At some point my liege was overthrown and the new liege was pretty old so when he died his son didnt have his troops up so I was able to get him to abdicate. I wasnt sure what this was going to do I thought maybe Id get the kingdom but some other guy got it. So I married one of my nephews or something into the family. At one time or another my Wife inherited the neighboring county and my son was somehow in line to inherit my holdings and the duchy...until he was murdered. Im guessing the murderer really wants that land and was murdering all the people in front of him in line...Anyway, Ive lost all my sons and my heir is that nephew married into the rulers family. At some point I became the regent for the king and I am also somehow the heir to the kingdom so I was really trying to have the king die or something but alas he grew up and now its gonna be hard to kill him for now. I think I might have been the regent for a while but Im not sure. Wish they would have told me I would have definitely had the time to depose him. Ill try and post pictures later. If I ever get to king Im probably gonna swear fealty to the HRE so I can maybe get that title from the inside. --- Quit Crying ... Copied to Clipboard!
