I just threw up all over the outside of the gym wall. Not due to anything related to exercise either. For a while now I've been having random problems where I gag or almost vomit for no apparent reason. It happens maybe once or twice a day or maybe not for a few days. I've never actually thrown up from it before now. I was inside the gym and barely starting my workout when I felt the feeling. I paused and let it pass, then it happened suddenly and I threw up in my mouth. I started to panic but calmly started walking towards the front of the gym. I threw up 2 more times in my mouth on the way there but was able to hide it. When I stepped outside, it finally exploded out and all over the front of the gym wall. I had to sit on the curb where I threw up again. I walked to the back of the building and was trying to drink water but it just tasted like tuna water because of the 2 tuna sandwiches I had eaten previously. It made me throw up 2 more times. I'm finally home and I kinda just wanna curl up into a ball. Luckily I'm going to a concert tonight where I can just drink, have fun and forget about it for a while. (I know drinking probably doesn't sound like the best idea to you guys but it actually doesn't trigger my need to throw up.)

Thanks moonjay. Apparently my mom feels this way regularly too. A friend of mine thinks it might be related to my caffeine intake. I think he may be right. I've been drinking more than usual for almost 2 years now and I also sometimes have anxiety issues that are related. Time to cut out the energy drinks and see how that goes.

Does this count as cyclic vomiting syndrome? I'm pretty sure this could categorize as a medical condition if it persists. Personally I've been emetaphobic my whole life and this sounds like a living hell to have to endure.
You posted about your caffeine intake just as I posted my comment... My guess after reading that is that you're intolerant to something in your drinks, but since caffeine is an addictive substance you might feel kinda bad without it (ever hear of a caffeine headache?). Try cutting back, but if the vomiting keeps happening enough that it impacts your overall functionality and worsens anxiety I'd go see a doctor. The fact that it happens to your mom too makes me think that it could be something hereditary.

Good news is that depending on the gym you go to nobody will probably care.

Are you feeling nauseated before you actually throw up? If this continues I'd go see a doctor. Good luck.

Don't think so. I don't have most of the symptoms that are presented in that.

I feel embarrassed af either way so I think I'm going to a different gym for a couple of weeks at least.

No. There is really no nausea involved at all. It feels more like I feel a gag reflex coming on. Like if I make a sudden movement, it will trigger my gag reflex. It's a little hard to explain. Part of me feels like it is psychological or at least that has become part of it. I think my friend might be right about it being caffeine related though. I want to schedule a check up with a doctor anyway.

That happens to me when I'm dehydrated or anxious. Cutting the caffeine intake should help.

I used to gag if I took a deep breath. Literally gagging on breath... Anyway, if I were you I'd check with a doctor. That doesn't sound normal.

That's actually one of the things that sometimes triggers me too. Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Yeah it has also helped lessen my anxiety in the past too.

Nope, sorry. It didn't happen a lot, and it eventually stopped for the most part. I never checked into that because I figured it was just a sensitive reflex.

@GunslingerGunsl

I'm not a smoker. Probably smoke weed like 3 times a year on average. Don't smoke cigarettes and very very very rarely may smoke a black and mild.
