Board 8 > Anyone here into the rave scene/EDM/music festivals?

I'm going to EDC for the first time next month. I really know nothing about the scene, but I'm interested and wanted to experience it with friends who are more into it.

Any advice or protips from people who have been there? Thx

I went the past 5 years, but sadly will not be attending this year. I highly suggest not staying at the main stage much and venturing off to the other stages through your the weekend. Neon Garden FTW!

Please do! I'm going with my gf, my roommate, and my childhood friend's small group. I sprung extra for the VIP parking, so I hope that helps because I've heard traffic getting in and out of the venue could be a nightmare.

I talked to another friend who lives for these festivals, and she said spend the first day exploring every nook and cranny sober, and wait for the second day to get fucked up.

Yup, explore everything while there! And don't be discouraged when you get lost or lose your friends, I made some great friends while raving and still keep in touch with them. But set up meeting times at a location like the 7up Stage on the 2nd floor, that's a good one, just to get everyone back together if you do decide to split up to see different sets. I love going to events, primarily because I love to dance (shuffling). You'd find me on the left side of the stage in the back where all the shufflers are at. It's what I live for lol. Party favors are great with the right crowd. Don't wanna take shrooms or drop acid with people that aren't doing it with you, gotta be on the same level. And I wouldn't recommend going there hammered on alcohol but that's just me. It really is a marathon so hydrate and take breaks to sit down and lounge somewhere. As soon as you walk in there are places on the grass where people relax at.

Man, I really want to go now lol.

And yeah the traffic can get stupid dumb. But that's with any event like this. Getting VIP will help you out tremendously though so that's good that you got it.
