I'm rewatching the last episode of HeroAca and it's hitting me that I actually really enjoy the OP. I already knew I liked it because of how weird it was for an opening but I would legit listen to this outside of it being an anime song.

Oh also Ping Pong is universally loved by everybody who could look past the unconventional art style afaik. And everybody who couldn't dropped it immediately. Definitely recommend you (and everybody else who hasn't already) give that one at least a look.

I realize this is inevitable for really old anime dubs, but the Orphan dub played it's hand when the episode preview talks about there being one more episode left on the VHS, lol.

Considering I owned that first tape it's pretty nostalgic.

Megalo Box and Tada-kun both with not-great episodes this week. Meh. At least Steins;Gate 0 was still fantastic.

I liked Maria the Virgin Witch a lot, though I can understand why people wouldn't. The ending was weirdly presented especially, since it left out some stuff from the manga version.

I thought the manga was mediocre, and I assume the anime follows the same story.

I don't think the reason the Ping Pong anime is good is because of the base story. It's because it's directed by Masaaki Yuasa.

Not that I suspect the base story is bad, but there's different levels contribution here for me.

But deciding where things fit in my ranking is half the fun of watching anime!

Anyway I think I'll go with Lucky Star because it looks the least risky but all the others have been pushed higher on my list, thanks again everyone. Also I've already watched Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru, Granzon. It was decent, Colette was the best part by far.

The full version dropped yesterday and it's like.....20 times better than the TV version, even ignoring the length. You want some great speakers or headphones for this one.

The latest episode of Comic Girls had one guy do all the key animation. He also storyboarded, directed, and directed the animation for the episode (typical anime episodes have at least a dozen key animators and 2-8 animation directors). Pretty crazy stuff.

Yay, Lucky Star is good! Thank you WhiteLens, my curse has been lifted. I'm really enjoying the quick switches between various scenes and gags. All the characters are fun in their own ways, too. That said, my absolute favorite part has been the Lucky Channel segments with Akira at the end of each episode. Seriously, I'd watch an entire anime about a surly teen idol.

Tada episode 5

I mean, this is all assumption since nothing was actually said, but the character introduced at the end appears to be a prince, and, based on dialogue, I would assume he is set to marry Teresa. This has a near 100% chance to end up with a final arc where the cast has to prevent the two from marrying at the last second so that she can be with the MC. It's played out and vapid and I'm sick of seeing it. Of course if it doesn't go that direction, I'm still comfortable with the drop because of genuinely poor writing and direction. Like, the Rainbow Samurai execution was funny the first time, but they've used the same exact joke with 0 change 3 times now. What?

Conception 2 was an exceedingly tedious RPG but it honestly wasn't bad as a waifu simulator. Depending on how they approach this I think it could be really good. One of the character's stories was actually pretty poignant.

Edit: Oh it's going to be the first game probably (not sure why I thought otherwise). Never mind, I know nothing about that one.

Devilman could have gotten it just for the ending and Darling for that ONE episode but I think overall I enjoyed Ancient Magus' Bride the most even with its issues
