I would hope so.

And the game doesn't even have DLC (outside of the Digital Deluxe version) or lootboxes. That's refreshing. And if they do bring up DLC, well...it's announced after the game has been released.

Really, who said that, though? I mean Skyrim has been a phenomenon for like 8 years. Uncharted and The Last Of Us are like award-winning series. Hell, there are even a ton of indie games that are entirely singleplayer and are both critical and consumer darlings.

Fallout 4 is proof single player games still succeed. Witcher 3 is proof single player games still succeed. 19 different release of Skyrim is proof that single player games still succeed.

Single player games can succeed, but you can get away with putting loot boxes and stuff like that in multiplayer games. More potential to milk you that way.

Single player games can succeed, its just that multiplayer games with loot boxes make more of a profit. Sea of Thieves sold significantly less copies than God of War, but itll make more money in the long run due to loot crates.

God of War isnt going to be a GTA type game where it sells a million copies every single month for the next 3 years, it sold really well at launch and that number is getting lower and lower every day.
