A cousin of mine highly recommended Sanderson, and it seems like Way of Kings/Stormlight Archive are his most popular works. Is it a good entry point into his work though? Avoid spoilers if possible, please.

I recommend Mistborn as a starting point. The Way of Kings is as well, but the sequels aren't, imo. They're enjoyed 5x more with the context of his other Cosmere works, specifically Warbreaker (standalone) and to a lesser degree, Mistborn.

I started with Way of Kings and then the other stormlight books, then the Mist Born series. For some reason I read something that said the best place to start is with Elantris.

It was his first book IIRC.

Mistborn is the best entry point.

If you want to get really commited.

I would go:

Mistborn original trilogy>Warbreaker>Elantris>Way of Kings

You really can't go wrong no matter where you start.

Damn, this is the kind of praise I've been seeing elsewhere. Must be some good stuff, I'm excited!

Reminds me I should probably go finish WoT sometime... I stopped like 5 years ago around like book 10. I hear Sanderson sort of managed to tidy things up by the end

Word of warning, Sanderson is the type of author who gets better the more he writes, so some of his earlier stuff is a little... rough around the edges, so to speak. I'd recommend starting with his earlier works so you don't feel like you're ever taking a step back. Also, some of his books are connected later on. I'd recommend reading Warbreaker and all of Mistborn before Words of Radiance
