I see how dying light borrowed from the far cry,l series, but has any one thought about Far cry 5 and compaired it to the dying light expansion, "The following".

Spoilers

That expansion had a progression bar that filled as you completed tasks in the open world that unlocks story missions the more you fill it.

A cult that is seemingly not crazy, where in Far cry they are nuts. Both leaders of the cult are deranged but in dying light you don't really figure that out till later. While in 5. You know right off the bat.

A way to end the game fast in dying light you had the nuke. In Far cry 5 you have common sense and can choose not to arrest seed.

Now I can easily make comparisons on how dying light borrowed from the Far cry series in general. Even the dead island games, in this case I'm only trying to compare what five may have borrowed from the expansion of Dying light, " The Following"

Just a fun thought.

None of those things are original to either game.

Hell, the early "hidden" ending in FC5 wasn't even the first time Far Cry did it.

What other far cry did it? EDIT, saw that 4 did have one as well. Using Google, I barely got past the intro in 4 so I can safely say I had no experience other than an hour or two

And I'm not saying these ideas are original, so get that out of your head. I'm just wondering if these studios ever have conversations with each other?

Why would they need to have conversations with each other?

Ripping off other games' ideas is basically the cornerstone of the industry anymore.
