Back at Toy Fair in February it was announced Hasbro acquired the toy rights to Power Rangers. Now they own it all.

https://www.powerrangersnow.com/hasbro-acquires-power-rangers-for-522-million/

On May 1 2018, Hasbro officially announced their plans to acquire the brand in full for $522 million in cash and stocks.

The move will give Hasbro full control over the Power Rangers property including entertainment, toys, games, and all other assets. Hasbro will now own all characters, naming rights, past seasons, and future seasons under the Power Rangers umbrella.

Haim Saban will remain working with Hasbro for the time being in an advisory role.

Power Rangers is an iconic brand built on a heritage of great storytelling and merchandising with tremendous upside potential when fully executed across Hasbros Brand Blueprint. Shortly after entering into our licensing arrangement, it became clear that now was the time to begin investing in unlocking Power Rangers full potential. We see significant opportunity for Power Rangers across our entire Brand Blueprint, including toys and games, consumer products, digital gaming and entertainment, as well as geographically throughout our global retail footprint. We couldnt be more pleased that Haim Saban will continue in a consulting role to further guide our development of this valuable property for the next generation of Power Rangers fans. Brian Goldner, Hasbro CEO
Hasbro will also acquire the remaining properties owned by Saban Brands, including Luna Petuina, Julius Jr., and more.

25 years after launching Power Rangers, I believe the future for this brand has never been greater. Hasbros leadership in innovation, storytelling and brand stewardship make it the perfect company to further develop the global reach and appeal of the Power Rangers property. I look forward to working with Brian and the team in the years to come. Haim Saban, Power Rangers Founder
Hasbro first became involved with the Power Rangers brand in February 2018, when they were named the master global toy license to produce products for the franchise moving forward. The first wave of those toys will still hit stores in Spring 2019 for Power Rangers Beast Morphers, the TV shows upcoming 26th season airing on Nickelodeon.

Power Rangers now joins Transformers and My Little Pony as brands owned in full by Hasbro, as they attempt to continue boosting their presence in the entertainment business as a way to fuel toy sales.

No additional details are known at this time including what the move may mean for future TV show seasons, movie incarnations, new projects, and more.

Its still a blue chip franchise. They have been making/porting the franchise in the US for 25 years. I always pass by a new variation in the toy aisle.

Also I hope this means we get a legit movie now

Power Rangers might always be in style because the concept is fluid enough to follow anything that's popular with kids (provided you have the source footage to match).

Kids are into space now? You could make a Power Rangers show that takes place in space! (Well....another one)

Didn't Power Rangers rid itself of its "archive" Sentai bits quite some time ago?

RPM is one of the best. But it was clear that Disney didn't care about the brand and were only making more seasons out of obligation. They wouldn't even air the franchise on their at that time new for boys channel Disney XD.

I can't believe how many G1s they've been "updating" recently. Just in the last year, I've seen Octane, Blitzwing, Dreadwind, Kickback, Windcharger, Beachcomber, for fuck's sake, they even redid Seaspray and Cosmos, perhaps two of the lamest small-scale figures ever, and made them look decent.
