In shows, movies and cartoons you always see them use Kryptonite, magic weapons etc, but how would that work out in real life?

There's literally nothing we could do.
There's zero chance of an IRL Superman-like person allowing anything like Kryptonite to exist or remain on Earth. That would probably be their first act after realizing their powers and it would all be gone long before the public knew of his existence. And magic doesn't exist, so that's a non-factor. They would be our new god. There is literally nothing we could do to actually hurt him. Maybe we could guilt him or shame him into not completely warping life as we know it, but he could do whatever he wanted at anytime. Assuming even nukes could hurt him, all he'd have to do is get an apartment in Manhattan and he'd become invincible.

Don't get me wrong, I'd fear this person but to dehumanzie them just because of what they are isn't fair to them. If they do bad, go ahead, but if they're just living life there's no reason to treat them as a ticking time bomb.

If a person like Superman exists, humans don't have to do anything because they share something in common with Mr. Supermancopy: He still requires suspension of disbelief. Snap out of the daydream, Copyman disappears, you leave comic book land and come back to the real world. Superman exists in a universe where his human-sized lung capacity produces tornadoes and he can disguise himself by wearing glasses.
