how to do that? does tracking new messages track new topics on a board?

It's under the "Favorites" tab at the top. There's a dropbox when you mouse-over it.

tbh, I've tried using the feature on other boards before and recall not really liking it. Even thought PotD is slow by social board standards, it's still high volume enough to make tracking everything impractical.

Not sure. Topics and posts are listed as separate options (although you can select both) so it's possible you could see new posts without new topics. However, again, if you want both, you can select both.

Not sure. Topics and posts are listed as separate options (although you can select both) so it's possible you could see new posts without new topics. However, again, if you want both, you can select both.
