day of the surgery was fine, next day was fine. woke up like 230 this morn in a lot of pain...wtf. anyone else deal with this kind of thing?

i hope not. it isn't unbearable, just much more sore/painful than the day of and the next day

i also had 4 removed and had only mild discomfort before early this morning. they prescribed me pain pills which i haven't taken before now because i didn't really need em, now over an hour layer i took a couple and it is much more bearable but just kind of unsettling

I didn't wind up in too much pain when they took out my top wisdoms. They gave me Percocet but I didn't take any. I wound up taking Tylenol and swishing saline. A lot.

Two weeks later, I made the mistake of eating sushi. My tip to you: buy flosser picks. Rice is a bitch to get stuck in an empty socket.

i didn't at first because i was only mildly discomforted, i did when i woke up this morning because it was much worse than before. not unbearable or anything like that, just weird to go from basically no pain originally to a fair amount of pain to wake me up hours earlier than normal. they seemed to have kicked it because it isn't so bad now, just kind of unsettling

same with me except they gave me hydrocodone 7.5 which i didnt initially take because i wasnt really in pain. took a couple this morning though and feel much better now, just a little itchy. i do have some floss picks i generally use for dental care anyway. so far just been eating yogurt, pudding, applesauce, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese with no issues

It'll be that way for a while, and it's every bit as weird as you think. Keep your sockets clean. Enjoy pudding. Buy some Soylent if you want.

i have been washing my mouth out with salt water a few times a day as the dentist told me to. felt gross af not brushing my teeth yesterday but they told me to avoid if possible, i will brush em today for sure but i hope the pain generally subsides like it has been the last couple of days. first two days went much better than i expected. i just hope to not get dry socket since i do smoke although i laid off the first 24 hours as expected and am smoking much less. i have a follow up appointment next friday for them to check everything out, hope i can get back to normal by then tbh

Yeah, lay off the cigarettes. Learn from my mistakes and please don't use an electric toothbrush for a while. I had mine out about two years ago.

yeah, i am trying it is just really hard for a heavy smoker like me. i just bought some new basic toothbrushes for this so hopefully that goes smoothly. drove me nuts not brushing my teeth an entire day, felt disgusting >_>

yeah one of my mine was sideways. no pain at all really until a few hours ago and i took a couple pain meds and no problems since

I had my wisdom teeth removed about a month ago.

The only time they hurt was when I would wake up at ~4:00 in the morning. Only happened for the first ~3 days though.

Only had really heavy pain once. Did they give you painkillers after the surgery? Don't be afraid to use it if needed.

Oh god, yeah. If they're impacted, just take the sedation option.
