Dawn Hilton-Williams claimed she was bullied and harassed by a racist officer The woman was pulled over for speeding April 27, when the incident happened She claimed the experience was 'traumatic' and left her fearing for her safety and life After backlash, the Brunswick County Sheriffs Department released bodycam The footage from the department showed the cop conducting a regular stop The woman however refused to sign a ticket and the cop gave her the summons The officer told her she didn't have a choice and threatened to arrest her and impound the car, so she signed When Hilton-Williams finally signed, the officer thanked her before walking off A nice summary of the events at the top of the article. --- ... This is what police deal with all the time. People wonder why so many of a certain type of people claim to be harrassed by police when its just simple stops like this.

Fatal police shootings are quite different, as they are often criminal matters that are under investigation. In contrast, this is about a woman who claimed that a cop was saying mean things to her (which is not a crime even if true). There are plenty of cases where badge cam footage that exonerated the police officer wasn't released until days later, sometimes after a trial. Note the case of this Milwaukee cop acquitted of shooting an armed black man. The footage that led to his acquittal wasn't released until after the verdict.
