So it seems to be a very common talking point among those on the right that "the West is completely incapable with Islam". I see the sentiments happening time and time again that the religion itself is so regressive that those who practice it simply want to drag society back to the middle ages. And certainly the President has made his position perfectly clear with wanting to end immigration from "problem countries", at best, and a total shut down of Muslims immigrating from anywhere at the worst. I'm asking mostly as it pertains to the US, but this mentality seems to resonate in a bunch of Western nations presently, and usually although not uniformly, from the "right" parties in the country.

So instead of beating around the bush, why not just outlaw the religion and the practice of it in itself?

You stop a "refugee" flow from countries and people that have no hope of ever being anything but a resource sponge at best, to insurgents at worst. These aren't multi-lingual skilled workers who will find their feet wherever they land, they're just people who can't communicate, can't integrate, can't provide for themselves and their family, and you ask why there's a problem?

He stopped it not because of muh mooselimb hate, but because Saudi Arabia can and should be handling this. They've got the same language, the same industries, and the same cultures. They've also got more than the capacity to act, just no one pushed them to do so.

If you mean by ban it completely you mean ban the parts that endorse genocide thereby piecemealing the religion, then yeah.

They have absolutely no response for the fact that Muslim refugees in America are more law-abiding than the people that were born here and that a higher percentage of them go on to be business owners. If not for the fact that they're Muslim then they're everything that the right would want out of a religious population.

Which is basically how every muslim in the west practices Islam. And short of the rural regions in the middle east, or the theocratic states, pretty much everywhere else too.

The image of the typical muslim in Republican media mirrors the extreme picture painted by the far end of the other judeochristian faiths, like super orthodox jewish people or WBBC. And we don't treat the extreme examples like the rule, so as far as I can tell, it stems from ignorance or propaganda.

Why? Do you disagree that people have said that Islam isn't compatible with Western civilization? Or that they don't adjust or accommodate properly? Why bother allowing them to practice a religion you don't think meshes with the Western way of life?

What is common sense Islam? You're talking about an ideology that starts with their prophet flying around on a winged horse, and death to infidels is all part of the plan. You'd have to cherry pick the teachings to the point where it might not even be recognizable, if you want to describe it as common sense.
