It's Final Fantasy. Even Cecil, who's the military leader of a whole country, is like 18. I was shocked when I learned Setzer was all of 27.

I'm aware of SE's weird age thing

especially since Cid and Auron are in their 30s

a google search shows that Locke is 25

but in game, hes so wise, well traveled, and sorta acts like a father figure to Terra for a bit, (and the grey hair probably didn't help)

and the fact that his age isn't brought up in game (AFAIK)
he just came off as older to me

seeing him get the pretty boy treatment threw me off

I still prefer Sazh (he was in my main team!) but yea, he had the misfortune of being regulated to both The "Old guy" AND Comic relief.

Which they didn't pull off well and it ruined both aspects for him

He was super sympathetic though and I felt for him

Also this is probably just a personal preference but I enjoyed using literally every other party member over him in battle, everyone covered everything he did plus their own stuff
