The rules are simple: The best of N64 vs the best of PS1. Each battle will have one victor, the winner survives and fights again until they are eliminated. Should be a good match up. Vote for whichever game you like best.

New Rule: If a combatant wins 5 rounds, it will take a 5 round rest.

Misfit Opinion: Only played dragon warrior 7 for about 5 minutes, Kirby 64 is fun, but very easy and very short.

I wasn't really into the Dragon Quest games when I was younger. But I did play a bunch of Kirby 64...

You need to add a line under defeated for, "Suikoden II (promoted)"

I don't want DQ VII getting credit for Suikoden II's dominance. heck, the N64 lineup is so weak until the end, DQ might amass its own win streak anyway. Kirby and Ogre Battle might top it, but if it gets past those two, it's totally hitting that 5 win benchmark.

I've never played dragon quest 7 but I also played a lot of Kirby 64. It's probably the worst Kirby I've played too but still fun.

I think it's more of a quantity issue. Personally, I like most of the N64 games way more than the PlayStation lineup. But when thinking of games I probably would've added for either side, I come up with more PlayStation. And that's just because they were more...

The only N64 games I liked were Smash Bros. and...that's about it. OoT and MM were ok, and I was kinda over platformers by Mario 64. Played Golden Eye a lot w/ friends, but never really enjoyed it, too much of the gameplay just felt like it rewarded "cheap" tactics.

PS1 on the other hand....damn. Suikoden I and II are two of my all time favorites, Legend of Dragoon, FF Tactics, Wild 9, Command and Conquer: Red Alert, Evil Zone, the old FF games compilations, etc...
So many incredible games. Heck, I'm still to this day learning of amazing PS1 titles I need to check out. Currently it's Alundra and Saiyuki: Journey West

I know PS1 had amazing games. But like I said, I think it was because it had more. More games means more good games. It also means more crappy and mediocre games, too. But still, it had a lot of good games. I think I like the Nintendo one more because it seemed to concentrate more on multiplayer. PlayStation had multiplayer, but I think N64 was a little better with it. Not to mention, I'm closer to more of the N64 games. One of my favorite systems. Even the single player ones were great to me...Don't get me wrong. I loved so many PlayStation games. But Nintendo seems to be just a little more fun...

The reason I say there's a lot is because even a great game that every plays like Suidoken, I hadn't even heard of ever. Not until a few days ago on this board. And I'm sure there's a lot of other games that lots of people never heard of, as well...

Not sure about the suggestion that both had the same "percentage" of good games.
But even if that's true...so what?
You don't have to play the bad games. No one's making you. If having more good games requires an equal amount of additional bad games...sign me up! I don't think I've ever even bought more than 20 games for any console, let alone several hundred.

I don't know what value this is you're placing in "quality." Do you think the Wii U is the greatest console of all time? It has a lot of incredible games (more than N64, IMO), and a far FAR smaller library. So, by your logic, it's surely the best console ever, right?

What are you talking about? All I was trying to say was I think playstation a lot of good games. And more good games than N64. But i think part of it was because of Quantity. That's all. More games overall games can help with having more good games. That's all. It's not definite proof that they had more good games. It's possiblilty. And I don't know what you were talking about with all the ther stuff....
