My 9th grade honors world geography teacher said that a normal year has 366 days and a leap year has 365 days. She said it was called a leap year because you're "leaping past the last day." We tried showing her a calendar with numbered days, but she said it was wrong.

I also had a teacher try to tell me the abbreviation for et cetera was ect instead of etc.

Science teacher tried to tell us that our hair and nails only grow while sleeping.

Social studies teacher was a yuge liar, a good one was how he had to be careful parking his Corvette or he wouldnt be able to open the gull wing doors on it.

Eleventh-grade history teacher said most Americans are millionaires because of the value of their homes. This was 1988-89.

1) Most Americans don't own their homes outright.
2) Most homes in America still don't cost anywhere near a million dollars. (But homes in my high school community did, even back then.)
