Does that mean we are having a conversation about the past?

No, because the event would be currently occurring.

Youre assuming that said current event ended at the time of your post, which simply isnt true.

But something new has occured or development or update so whatever you just spoke about on that event is old news or written in history so it falls under the past. So the current event can never be an actual topic on this forum since we are always operating in a delay

That isnt necessarily true. For example, the volcano Kilauea in Hawaii has been continuously spewing magma onto the Earths surface for years now. It quantifies as a current event, and said event has not concurred.

Its written in history, but as long as it is still occurring - its a current event that isnt wholly in the past.

But the amount of lava ejected and gas coming out is ever changing so that data is never fixed or current

Regardless of the statistics of the event, the event is still happening. That is the only requirement for it to qualify as a current event.

But if the lava was in my backyard when I posted this and by the time you read it in to my front yard wouldnt all the previous information already be in the past. Is current only possible if your physically in front of a person at that moment and not sending messages via the web.

Edited due to text block being too long.

That particular portion of it is true, Jaghave. However, it depends on the current event. I spoke of the magma flow from Kilauea itself, not the hypothetical backyard situation. I was using an actual current event to illustrate the range of timeframes that can quantify a current event.

Okay valid point but let say 1 year from now someone looks at this conversation it will no longer be current but still on the current event forum
