Whole situation could have been avoided if the neighborhood watch dog didn't act like he owned a parking spot. It's simply physically impossible for basically anyone, even in their physical prime, let alone 60 years old to fight off 6 young adults by hand. There's basically no way you don't get taken down and kicked the shit out of unless you're like The Rock and it's a bunch of twinky teenagers. Shit even having a physical weapon like knife or even a gun can potentially not be enough depending on how crazy the 6 dudes are. If they were already in your face when the altercation started they could still jump your ass before you could even get your gun or fire a round. Even if he went up to them and was a total asshole, saying shit line "this is my spot, blah blah blah, get out of here, rabble rabble rabble" that in no way remotely justifies beating an old man to what they believe would've been to death over it. Being as generous as possible, maybe if it was someone of similar, or superior age/build to you, they were being a massive douche, then maybe throwing a punch wouldn't be worth demonizing, but jumping and old man with 6 dudes, possibly a weapon, to near death, over a verbal altercation where no physical threats were made that we know of is fucked up. And even that hypothetical I described is still a stupid, archaic way of dealing with problems "derp I'm such I dumbass that I got into an argument so I just started throwing hands because I don't know how to deal with people or have basic conflict resolution skills."
