I chose Wild Arms 2 by virtue of it being my friend's absolute favourite PlayStation RPG.

WA1 for the music alone. Aw shit I forgot about this. I've actually picked up a few kinda mediocre games in my time just because of a catchy tune I heard. Kinda leaning towards 1 now if the music is that much better. >_> --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Fuck it, I went with WA1 first, I have to see where the series started. Maybe I can even use this as motivation to finally play all the numbered entries in order lol. Only one I ever got around to beating is 4.

TC if have time should finish PSone version then play the remake version Alter Code F for enhanced experience. If no time then suggest Alter Code F instead if origin is of no importance to you.
Also, who the fuck is choosing WA2? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

4 is kind of the building blocks for what 5 would eventually become I still can't decide which battle system I actually like more. I think I prefer 4 on principle because each party member has a clearly designated role, even though 5 is the more polished one. I mean, technically each party member in 5 has a particular role they're good at (Dean wants to spam Sonic Vision, Rebecca wants some type of magic, etc.), but it's just not the same to me lol. --- ... That's some fucked taste. 2 was a broken mess. ST didn't even capture the charm of its predecessor except overworld traveling.

I'm more partial to WA3, but WA2 probably wins out in this regard. WA1 is still worth playing, though.

WA1 is actually fairly primitive even for its time, I can't really get into it.
I've tried a few times, got like a dozen hours in twice but... I loved WA2 on the otherhand; Brad, Tim, Blazer, tools, puzzles, guardians, sidequests... Ive beaten it twice and started a few more times before getting distracted. Unlike a lot of games the beginning isn't boring so Im not hesitant to replay it. WA3 may have been too long, or slow paced. Only character I liked was Clive, and maybe some villians like Janus and Maya. I beat it, not sure about replaying it. I don't like the battle system of the newer games, though Ive only briefly tried 4 & 5. yusiko posted... wild arms XF is fun too but I wish... ...you could use skills after moving without that other skill. --- ...
