Makes no sense, God of War 4 completely took the series and made it into some dumbed down sappy emotional game that doesnt work. Totally horrible combat also by the way. Love the old ones they were just cheesy silly fun. Took all that and made it something completely different and horrible.

DMC made some bad changed but kept the same attitude as the old ones and still had great combat. Poor changes and some serious flaws but nothing compared to God of War.

The old God of War games were never praised for their combat. That's why.
Back in the mid 2000s it was always Ninja Gaiden and DMC were the competing action games while God of War was considered shallow.

DmC was a lot of fun. I guess people couldn't handle all that edge and the dev getting salty and calling people out over Twitter.

GoW 4 changed what people who weren't huge fans of GoW 1-3 didn't like about GoW 1-3.

If you were a huge fan of asshole, only emotion is anger, button mash combat Kratos, GoW 4 won't appeal to you as much.

DmC actually takes a stab at old DMC before even attempting to earn its own place.

Because God of War 4 wasn't made by Ninja Theory and Ninja Theory had mediocre games. I remember playing Heavenly Sword and found it to be meh.
