Why is the NFL's bottom line your concern?

Fair

A few years ago, they didn't even televise the anthem. The media loves to create controversy and the NFL doesn't give a rat's ass about respecting muh country. They just don't want to lose their government money. That propaganda machine pays well.

Okay. Doesn't change my post.

Well this ruling doesn't step on their first amendment rights yet people "think" it does

I guess now the overpaid athletes will have to find a new way to address their issues, preferably one that actually does something other than piss people off.

It's kneeling. Before Kaepernick did it, no one gave a shit about the idea of "kneeling" .... so when the next form of protest happens, the NFL will have to simply keep changing their policy.

"No wearing this during the anthem."
"No looking away from the flag."
"No listening to music by Biggie when the Anthem is playing."
"No listening to ANYTHING when the Anthem is playing."
"No wearing pinky rings that say "Black Lives Matter" on them."
"No crossing your fingers during the anthem!"

Like, I can guarantee more forms of protest will occur.

They should just protest outside of work like normal people do.

Don't try to stir things up on company time.

Better still, how about acknowledge they are in that 1% people seem to hate and are media figures that afford them influence and channels, so they'd be better using those resources directly to improve things one problem part of the world at a time. Instead they've done something that achieved nothing on the causes's front put push it down beneath arguments about "right to protest".

Protesting is for poor people without better options than to go off about how mad they are.

Because I'm a huge NFL fan? If they start losing revenue, the teams get less money, and we get a worse product on the field.

When it is on company time and it is hurting the NFL's business, the NFL is certainly justified from a business standpoint. I couldn't give a rat's ass about what the players do about police brutality and racism, hell I couldn't give a rat's ass what they were doing on the field with the anthem, but obviously some snowflakes do.

don't want to show support for our country

But we are talking about an overplayed song that players are only forced to go out and stand for because the DoD is paying them good money to do so. Let's end the narrative that standing for the anthem is directly proportional to what you think of your country or "Da troops". I sure hope no one that is so gung ho about this has changed the channel or grabbed food or taken a shit during the pregame. They better all be locked at attention and facing the nearest flag.
