I saw this yesterday and already forgot that I saw it. I liked it enough but it doesn't feel like it's even part of the canon. just a weird spinoff that probably doesn't need to exist.

on the other hand, I thought rogue one really added to the backstory of a new hope.

Yeah, I don't think Solo particularly enhances any part of the other movies, but it sounds like they're going to try to make it its own continuity with the Boba Fett (and maybe Obi-Wan) prequel stories.

well assuming that's still on the table considering Solo is going to be a financial flop

No, Han doesn't encounter Maul directly. Qi'ra speaks to him privately at the end. There's no display or mention of the Force or the Jedi in the entire movie.

It's fine. Not without flaws but a lot of fun and has some good moments. Good sense of adventure. Also Paul Bettany.

it's a fine movie. whatever 'trouble' they had ended up being a nonissue. the bigger issue I think is its irrelevance to the general star wars canon.

Eh, I don't think anyone was expecting massive implications from this movie. It's a fun action popcorn flick, and that's good enough.

I agree. I remember hearing trouble about the last jedi too though and, well, at least I thought that movie was pretty great.
