I'm not hyped for Solo, not sure why.

Either TLJ was so bad or I didn't ask for a solo movie.

It just feels like they're treading old ground.

Like the "Resistance" and the "First Order" and all that shit like ugh, isn't there ANYONE who wants to take a risk on an original idea? Anyone?

It's hard to be hyped for Star Wars when the movies come out faster than the Saw movies now.

I haven't seen it yet, debating on it.

However, this is the first time for me where I'm not rushing to the movie theatre.

I mean... every Star Wars movie ever, I've been hyped for day 1.

Not anymore I guess.

Give me a fucking Old Republic Trilogy, Disney.

Get the film rights to KOTOR, make a few changes to make it work as a film(s), and let me give you all my money.

There's only a fatigue when they are bad or mediocre movies that don't please the crowd. There's no marvel fatigue you know

Superhero fatigue is definitely a thing, but the films are good enough that people go anyways despite being a little worn out on them.

Sadly unlikely to happen, even if great potential for stuff in that.

Which sucks, cause that would be a fucking great trilogy or duology.

A lot of great stuff to work with, yeah. But Disney seems to want to stick their rather bland and repetitive universe going forwards.

I'm amazed that a company with the resources of Disney can't do better than what they've done so far. It's even more strange when you realize they also own Marvel. I don't think the Marvel films are masterpieces but they are far better than the garbage they're putting out and labeling as Star Wars.

Not with Disney Wars

They're way too intent on keeping the Force black and white to do Revan and Jolee Bindo and Kreia justice

I hope KOTOR is never touched by Disney Wars, they would fuck it up and ruin that story, look at the way they have handled the ST and the star wars story films.

The last great SW movie I had any excitement, chills, or felt anything for was Revenge of The Sith.

I still get the feels for the MCU films and JW 2 so its not me but the shitty quality of disney wars.

They shouldve just used the Thrawn trilogy tbh. I mean itd have to be rewritten a little due to the old ages of Hamill/Fisher/Ford but they couldve done it.

Great trilogy btw. And Thrawn was awesome. Wouldve made a way, WAY better villian than either Snoke or Ren.

Theres a lot of good EU material that they could have used and all of it better then the raging dumpster fire the ST is.

Most expected some kind of adaption of the Thrawn books or the jedi academy books but instead we have writting worse then fanfiction.

TFA and TLJ haven't had any memorable songs.

The PT had great set pieces, world built big time, still had a great soundtrack, and finally got it right in ROTS.

People are not really getting fatigued on the movies themselves, just that a lot of them are very same-y

Black Panther was incredible in this regard for switching it up so that it wasn't another Whedon quipfest.

This is why my favorite movie is Winter Soldier. On top of the formula deviation, I felt that they constructed a narrative where people like Iron Man, Thor, or Hulk would have just made shit worse had they intervened. It was very much a Captain America story through and through.

I think the superhero fatigue is lessened by how the characters can be so vastly different, even if the story beats and technical aspects of the movie are repetitive. Guardians of the Galaxy is technically a superhero movie like Captain America, but they're so stylistically different. Star Wars movies are just all kinda samey. Same setting and costumes, same John Williamsy orchestral score. Hell, the sequels are deliberately reiterating the story of the OT. There's an expected Star Wars style that boxes those movies in creatively in ways much harsher than Marvel movies.

Well that's never going to happen, but I think it would be a good idea if they set a new trilogy in that era. I mean right they have pretty much free reign over any period before TPM right? I guess it would be riskier, but it would potentially be far more interesting than what we've gotten so far.
