It's the blind idolization that leads to certain celebrities feeling like they can get away with it or people not believing it. Look how many people defended Cosby for decades all because they liked him and be was actively a serial date rapist during that time. Really wish people could get better about separating the art from the artist. I know it can be rough when someone you idolize does something terrible you didn't think they were capable of, but you have to understand they're just people, and people can do fucked up things unfortunately. When something like this comes out the reaction should try be "not him too!" or "I can't believe he of all people would do that!" or sometimes straight up denial. It should be to reserve demonizing them, but to take the accusations seriously but cautiously so until a proper investigation has been done into the matter and if found guilty it shouldn't be "I never would've expected him to do that!" because frankly you don't know them, they could be a completely different person behind closed doors. At that point the attention should immediately shift to accepting you didn't know them and they did a bad thing and giving sympathy and respect to the victim(s). He doesn't have the situational awareness realize that the way he jokes around makes his female subordinates uncomfortable. I mean, you can get away with pulling up a girl's skirt (kinda extreme for a prank) but you have to be cognizant of how they'll feel about it. Quick example; I've slapped my friend on the ass, "yo homie, you got chalk stains on your butt" (she did at the time) and neither of us thought much of it. We're cool like that. But when a neighbor who she barely knows tried that, she smacked him upside the head, reeled him by the ear like a harpooned whale to just inches from her nose and cussed him the hell out, all with her baby in the other arm.
