Just finished the first door. My reaction summed up:

Already really like it. Gorgeous artwork, A+ sound design, really good writing. Couldn't ask for more. Doubt this will turn into a playthrough topic - I basically made this so I could vent after seeing the conclusion of the first door.

To those who have finished, about how long is the game?

I also know a bunch of Umineko fans on /r/vns that also really like Fata Morgana. pretty big in that community

The length really depends on how quickly you read, too. I finished it in 21 hours (over the course of two days because, man, Fata Morgana hooked me good). I'm glad you're liking it so far!

This is the first one and not the recently released sequel (which I haven't read yet), correct? If so it's about 20 hours or so.

I think Ever17 was somewhat longer but I also may be misremembering as it's been a while since I read that.

Anyway, great game. If you ask me it (mostly) only gets better from here.

A Requiem for Innocence, but it's not a sequel, it's a spinoff/sidestory.

I'll half to check it out when I'm done with the main story.

One thing I really enjoyed from what I played is how it didn't rely on 'gotcha' moments. There were twists, sure, but overall it flat-out tells you (multiple times) that things are not going to end well and doesn't bother to hide a lot of the upcoming plot developments. It was confident enough in its writing that it didn't need to rely on the surprise factor...and it worked, so hey, good job game.
