I haven't had that experience, and the last few jobs I've had actually initiated that dialogue in the interview.

It's the same ones who also get funny if you want to talk salary. Bunch of time wasters and I'd never work for one. Have walked out interviews before because they refuse to talk about it.

It is a normal question. Red flag if interviewer doesn't like the question.

My boss would hate for me to get paid more especially if he isn't getting paid more first. I assume 80% of bosses are like this.
