Being pessimistic is a god-awful trait. For those who don't know, being pessimistic means being super negative all the time about everything and always expects the worst out of everything(AKA Capcom haters).

I promise you if you become just a little bit moderate with the world you will be happier and shit.

1. Acknowledge it and change your ways
2. Acknowledge it but accept who you are and not change
3. Live in denial

When it comes to any form of media, I am an extreme pessimist and it works out great. You're either never disappointed too much or delightfully surprised. It's honestly the best way to live.

Two examples:

"There is no way MGSV will live up to the hype I want it to. I'm iffy about it going open world and I'm unsure about the story given we've already had Peace Walker." Metal Gear's my all time favorite franchise, I bought Phantom Pain day 1 and think it is a fantastic game gameplay wise, but horrendous as a MGS game. Very disappointed, but not soul crushing like had I expected the very best.

"There is no way Thanos is going to be as big a deal as they have built him up to be and I'd be shocked if Infinity War can handle everything they're going for." I'm a huge MCU fan. I went in very excited for it, but ready to be disappointed and I was blown away. Over the moon loved it. Awesome. But even now I'm thinking "Well Avengers 4 can't possibly follow Infinity War up as good. As long as it's good I'll be happy, but I'm not expecting great."

The key thing is I don't let my pessimism turn me into a jaded downer asshole. I don't try to bring down anyone's excitement for anything. I don't drone on and on about the ways something might suck. I'll voice my concern and not join in on the circle jerk, but I'm not gonna try to bring anyone else down and if something does end up disappointing I'm not one to say "I told ya so."

Now when it comes to real life and issues that matter I am much more of a optimist than anything else honestly. Big difference between that and any movie, show or video game.
