Need a new bed/matress soon. I've heard that those metal frames a bit narrower than their corresponding mattress...is that always the case?

Wondering if it's better to get a queen frame and mattress or a queen frame and double mattress so that it doesn't say

Also, for anyone who's ordered a mattress online - how small are the shipping boxes? I know they can be pretty tiny but I wanna know if I can comfortably fit the box in the trunk of a subaru Impreza hatchback

i had a zinus brand frame like that. i want to say it was larger than the mattress very slightly, but it fits the size of your bed. don't get a queen frame and a double mattress. you will have a giant metal impediment to getting in bed.

i like these frames enough i am getting one for my new bed. Cats love hanging out under it, lots of storage room.

I had one when I was younger, I never had any issues with it.

All I can tell you is that, before you buy, check the measurements on the frame and on whatever type of mattress you plan to use, to make sure they sync up.

i know they say you don't need a box spring for that frame, but hopefully you have a thick mattress then.

Kk cool, I'm not set on a brand yet so I'm gonna keep my eyes open. And cool lol, my cat digs going under my bed but he always crawls into the box spring.

Do you know if they're loud when being used? This is gonna be at an apartment and I don't wanna bother my neighbors

I have a metal frame, but it's the kind that's made for a box springs or foundation (I have the former). The frame is very slightly larger than the base and it has a raised edge to keep it from sliding off.

I think it's like this: https://www.amazon.com/MALOUF-STRUCTURES-Adjustable-Double-Support/dp/B0063MX1GY

It's silent. I got rid of the box spring because that was noisy. I'm hesitant to get one for my current thinner foam mattress because the frame was never totally flush. Not so noticeable with a spring mattress but without that rigidity it may be less comfy
