I generally dont like anything hes made since then, although hes still ok. He also has a lot of interesting mixtape and feature verses from the early 2000s which are highly recommended. And that was when Em started taking more creative control over his music instead of letting Dre produce everything. And that allowed him to do this weird crossover of rap and country and rock that rarely if ever works. And at 45, Em can't do what he did before that pit him over in the first place by being angry and offensive because he's fucking 45 and its 2018. Because he hasn't put out a good album in 15 years. Individual songs are irrelevant, its about projects. Especially today in the digital age where music is created and distributed so readily. How many artist in a year drop a hot, popular record only to fade into obscurity after a few months because the album is trash and its revealed that the artist lack consistency. Em is not a consistent artist, and someone his age with all his acclaim should be more consistent else he's unworthy of it. I enjoyed 5 songs off revival. Those 5 tracks do nothing to make up for the indifference/ dislike for the rest of the project.
