As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!

jury's still out on that. it wouldnt make any sense if he could, but who knows? regardless, the supreme court ruled that accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt. if it comes to it and he does pardon himself, we would have an openly corrupt king for president

The real issue is if anyone would stop him if he did.

Congress doesnt care and he has a 5-4 Supreme Court.

He is a dictator.

I have to believe that even though congressional Republicans have turned a blind eye to most of his bullshit so far, theyd have to come around and take action if Trump tried something so breathtakingly audacious.

I sure hope so, because if they let him slide with pardoning himself, that really would mean he could get away with pretty much anything

Trump is probably right that he has the right to pardon himself, which is why it's important that we ABOLISH THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH. This sort of crisis hadn't come up until now because people tended to elect guys who had some measure of self control, but with the guy we have now, it's absolutely crucial that the office of President wield next to no meaningful authority.

Most of them dont give a shit. Theyve pledged loyalty to the Republican Party, the country itself exists to be exploited and doesnt matter. Their voting base is constantly fed propaganda so they will buy into the bullshit and often the districts themselves are screwed with to give them an advantage.

Yeah one of the "bright sides" to what's going on here is that it's exposing a lot of holes that need to be fixed.

Funny how y'all have been told forever that the electoral collage was supposed to prevent this and that's why it's kept around and yet

Americans love dictatorships when they tell them everything they want to hear. Especially a Trump dictatorship, the liberals would be angry and probably leave the country even through they won't
