Antipsychotics? For people with actual psychosis, absolutely. I've seen completely disheveled patients responding to internal stimuli and unable to even have a conversation with anyone, let alone maintain the most basic of hygiene, who are so far gone from reality only to come back and seem perfectly normal in a matter of days. The sad cycle is they improve, get discharged, and then get off their meds, fall back into homelessness/trouble with the law, and then end right back in the psych ward. Can't force compliance as an outpatient.
